(Web Desk): Millions of newly released US Justice Department documents have revealed Jeffrey Epstein’s connections with influential figures across politics, business, and academia.

The US Justice Department has released millions of internal documents related to late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, shedding new light on his ties with prominent figures in politics, finance, academia, and the corporate world.

The material, made public on February 2, reveals that Epstein maintained connections with influential individuals both before and after his 2008 guilty plea on prostitution charges, which included soliciting an underage girl. Evidence drawn from multiple legal and criminal cases highlights the extent of Epstein’s network and the continued interactions he allegedly had with high-profile figures.

Epstein was rearrested in 2019 on federal charges of sex trafficking minors. Later that year, he was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in what authorities officially ruled a suicide.

The Justice Department cautioned that the released files may contain unverified claims, altered images, or false allegations, along with sensitive and pornographic material. On Monday, officials confirmed that several thousand documents were removed after they were found to have inadvertently revealed the identities of Epstein’s victims.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the documents do not constitute proof of criminal sexual conduct by the individuals named in the files. He stressed that the presence of a person’s name in the records should not be taken as evidence of wrongdoing.

The disclosure has renewed public scrutiny of Epstein’s relationships and raised questions about how he was able to maintain influence among elite circles for years despite his criminal history.

The Justice Department said further reviews of the material will continue to ensure victim protection and accuracy.
