(Web Desk): Muslims across the country are observing Shab-e-Barat tonight with special prayers, night-long worship, and heightened security arrangements.

Muslims across the country are observing Shab-e-Barat tonight with deep religious devotion and respect, as mosques nationwide have arranged special night-long worship gatherings.

Special prayers and nawafil will be offered throughout the night, while worshippers will seek forgiveness and pray for their families, loved ones, national peace, development, and prosperity. Mosques have also organized spiritual gatherings featuring recitation of the Holy Quran, Hamd, Naat, Zikr-e-Ilahi, and Durood-o-Salam.

Shab-e-Barat, which means the “Night of Forgiveness,” is considered a night of salvation and mercy. Muslims believe it is a night when Allah grants forgiveness and freedom from the fire of hell. On this sacred occasion, believers bow before Allah, seeking pardon for their sins and renewing their commitment to righteousness.

Across the country, mosques have been decorated with colorful lights. Prominent religious sites, including Data Darbar and the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, have made special arrangements for worshippers.

In addition to prayers, a large number of people visited graveyards to offer Fateha and recite the Quran for the departed souls. Many Muslims also observed fasting today in reverence of Shab-e-Barat.

Meanwhile, strict security arrangements have been put in place. Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar directed authorities to ensure foolproof security across the province. Lahore Police also deployed additional personnel, including Elite Force units, at sensitive mosques and imambargahs.

Shab-e-Barat, also known as Lailatul Mubarakah and Lailatur Rehmah, is regarded as a night of repentance, mercy, and spiritual renewal for the Muslim Ummah.
