Spotify is reportedly testing a new feature that could transform how readers and listeners interact with books. The streaming giant is developing Page Match, a feature designed to synchronize physical book reading with audiobook playback inside the Spotify app.

The potential feature uses optical character recognition (OCR) to scan a page from a physical book with your phone’s camera. Once the text is recognized, Spotify would automatically jump to the matching spot in the audiobook, allowing users to pick up listening exactly where they left off in their paperback or hardcover.
The feature is still in testing and not yet officially announced, so its public release is not guaranteed. Early reports suggest it could initially roll out in regions where Spotify’s audiobook catalog is already live, including the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and parts of Europe.

As Spotify continues expanding its audiobook services, the Page Match update could mark a meaningful step toward blending traditional reading with digital audio convenience, making it easier than ever to follow your favorite books, no matter how you choose to engage with them.
