Over 66,000 traffic violators fined in Islamabad crackdown
The special enforcement campaign was launched on the directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to curb traffic violations, illegal parking and reckless driving across the city.
During the operation, traffic police impounded 6,562 motorcycles and 3,285 vehicles. They also registered 379 FIRs against motorists involved in serious traffic offences that endangered public safety.
According to the Islamabad Traffic Police, illegal parking was the most common violation, with 10,846 cases recorded during the campaign. Authorities also issued tickets to 7,625 motorists for lane violations and took action against 7,150 vehicles with non-standard number plates.

The crackdown also targeted 5,105 overloaded vehicles, 4,392 wrong-way drivers and 4,392 motorcyclists riding without helmets. Thousands of motorists were also fined for various other traffic violations.
Officials said the campaign was launched to improve traffic flow, strengthen road discipline and reduce accidents caused by reckless driving and traffic law violations. The Islamabad Traffic Police urged motorists to follow traffic rules, use standard number plates and adopt safe driving practices to help make the roads safer for everyone.
