NADRA launches new Pak ID feature to help citizens spot errors before submission
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new feature in its Pak ID mobile application, allowing citizens to preview their identity cards before submitting online applications.
According to an official statement, the latest version of the Pak ID app, v5.6.6, includes a “See the Card” option that enables applicants to view a digital version of their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) during the application process. The move is aimed at reducing mistakes and improving the overall user experience.
NADRA advised users to carefully review all personal information displayed in the preview before completing their applications. If any errors are identified, applicants can return to the relevant section and make corrections instantly, helping avoid delays or rejections.
The new feature is expected to benefit millions of Pakistanis who rely on online services for identity card renewals, modifications, and new registrations. Officials say the upgrade is part of NADRA’s broader effort to digitize public services and make government procedures more accessible.
In a separate development, NADRA announced the launch of civil registration services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The authority has started registering births, deaths, marriages, and divorces through local councils in the province.
During the first phase, the service is available in all village and neighborhood councils across Peshawar district. NADRA plans to gradually expand the facility to other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the coming months.
The initiative is expected to improve record management, strengthen documentation systems, and make essential registration services easier for citizens, particularly those living in remote and underserved areas.
