(Web Desk): NADRA ID card renewal warning before expiry urges citizens to act early. Expired cards may affect mobile SIMs, bank accounts and key services.

NADRA has advised citizens to renew their ID cards before they expire. The authority says delays can create serious problems in daily life.

According to NADRA, expired ID cards can affect bank accounts and mobile SIMs. People may also lose access to government and welfare programs.

Officials warned that late renewal may lead to penalties in the future. However, NADRA is currently not charging fines for delays.

Data shows that millions of ID cards and documents have already expired. NADRA is sending SMS alerts to remind citizens about renewal.

The authority also said citizens must get an ID card as soon as they turn 18. PTA requires a valid ID card for mobile services.

If an ID card expires, SIMs linked to it may be blocked. This can disrupt communication and daily activities.

NADRA revealed that over 8,100,000 SIMs are active on expired ID cards. These SIMs need urgent renewal to avoid sudden disconnection.

SIMs registered under deceased individuals can also be blocked anytime. Citizens are advised to transfer such SIMs to their own name.

Sources said extra fees and penalties may be applied after June for late renewal. Citizens can renew ID cards through NADRA centers, Pak ID app and e-Sahulat services.

Many people ignore expiry dates and face sudden problems. Renewing early can save time and avoid stress later.
