Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya has filed a complaint before the judicial commission investigating the Mir Raza Ali case, alleging harassment and a campaign against her. She claimed that Dr Osama shared edited portions of their private conversation with selected media outlets and digital platforms.

Dr Summaiya said Dr Osama appeared before the commission three times but did not submit the complete recording. She argued that presenting selected excerpts without the full context could create misunderstandings and divert attention from the main issues in the case.

Dispute over post-mortem reports

The police surgeon also alleged that Dr Osama had initially accepted the interim post-mortem report but later refused to acknowledge the final findings. She maintained that after a multi-member medical board conducts a post-mortem, the earlier report becomes secondary.

The dispute centres on conflicting findings from the first and second post-mortem examinations of Mir Raza Ali, whose death is being investigated by a judicial commission headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial.

Dr Summaiya said some of Dr Osama’s conclusions about the gunshot wounds disregarded scientific evidence. She offered to submit the complete recording of her conversation with him if the commission permits it.

An audio recording of the two doctors’ conversation surfaced recently, with media reports saying it contained discussion about the preparation and release of the post-mortem report. The contents and identities in the recording have not been independently verified.
