Jet fuel price jumps after latest surge in global oil market

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan has increased the price of jet fuel by Rs13.23 per litre, raising the new rate to Rs251.20 per litre following a sharp rise in international oil prices.

According to an official notification issued on Saturday, the revised price comes after the government recently increased the prices of petrol, high-speed diesel, and kerosene oil.

Officials said the latest increase is linked to the sharp rise in global oil prices, which has pushed up the cost of petroleum products in both international and domestic markets.

The higher jet fuel price is expected to increase operating costs for airlines, adding further financial pressure on the aviation sector.

Industry experts believe airlines could face higher expenses if international oil prices remain elevated. However, any decision on airfares will depend on the policies of individual carriers.

Pakistan continues to face the impact of fluctuations in global energy markets, with changing oil prices affecting fuel costs and increasing financial pressure on various sectors of the economy.
