The incident caused a powerful explosion and led to a major security response in the area.
According to police officials, terrorists attacked Miryan Police Station in Bannu district. Security personnel immediately responded, resulting in a prolonged exchange of fire.
Bannu District Police Officer Captain (Retd) Muhammad Furqan Bilal confirmed the attack. He said authorities were assessing the situation and that details regarding casualties would be released later.
Preliminary reports suggested that the attackers attempted to ram an explosives-laden vehicle into the police station. The impact reportedly caused a powerful blast that was heard across a wide area.
Police sources said the explosion was followed by intense gunfire between terrorists and security personnel. Additional security measures were quickly put in place to prevent further threats.
Reinforcements from nearby police units were dispatched to the scene. Members of the Police Peace Committee also arrived to assist authorities during the emergency situation.
The blast caused damage to the police station building and affected nearby residential properties. Residents in surrounding areas reported hearing a loud explosion from a considerable distance.

The attack has revived memories of previous incidents in the district. In April, a suicide car bomb attack on Domel Police Station in Bannu killed five civilians and injured 13 others, including a police officer.
