Lahore schools to get mobile libraries under ‘Libraries on Wheels’ project
The project aims to promote reading habits and digital education by bringing books and learning tools directly to students through mobile library vehicles. Officials say the plan will help modernize school learning and make education more accessible.
According to details, the initiative will cost around Rs198,000,000 and is part of efforts to strengthen public education.
The system is also being described as part of wider mobile libraries Pakistan programs designed to support students in different regions.
Under the plan, 85 electric vehicles will be converted into mobile libraries. Each vehicle will include 20 tablets and a large LED screen to support interactive and digital learning activities for students in schools.
Officials confirmed that every mobile unit will visit one government school daily according to a fixed schedule. The aim is to ensure that students regularly benefit from both books and digital learning resources.
