Lahore Police arrest a man for robbing online taxi drivers
Police revealed an interesting method behind the suspect's crimes: he would repeatedly book online taxis at different times, giving the Children's Hospital as his destination. Upon reaching the location, he would ask the driver for their mobile phone under the pretext of making a call, then flee with the device before the driver could react.
Police in Lahore's Chungi Amar Sidhu area, covering the Children's Hospital, arrested the suspect with the help of CCTV footage installed at the hospital.
Investigators said the accused had also carried out thefts against patients' attendants and visitors inside the Children's Hospital. Footage reviewed by police reportedly shows him leaving the hospital premises shortly after each theft.

SP Model Town Asad Ali said the accused, identified as Tanveer, already had a criminal record involving theft, robbery, and other cases before this arrest. Police said his established pattern of using ride-hailing bookings as a cover made it easier to identify and track him once hospital CCTV footage was reviewed.
Police said a case has been registered against the accused, who has been handed over to the investigation branch for further inquiries.
Officials said the case highlights the growing use of CCTV networks around hospitals and public facilities to solve street crime in Lahore.
