TEHRAN (Web Desk): Iran’s Supreme Leader announces “new chapter” in Strait of Hormuz as he vows to remove maritime obstacles and reshape regional balance.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has said that a major shift is underway in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz following recent regional tensions.

In a statement shared by Iranian media, he said the situation has changed since the conflict began on February 28, and the region is now entering a new phase of political and security developments. He described the past two months as a turning point that has reshaped the strategic environment in the Gulf.

Khamenei said the future of the Persian Gulf would be “bright” without the presence of the United States, adding that Iran and neighboring countries share a common destiny. He reiterated that foreign forces should have no role in the region, maintaining Iran’s long-standing stance against external military involvement.

According to the statement, he linked these developments to what he described as the failure of US policies in the region, saying this has created a new reality in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. He stressed that a “new chapter” is beginning in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important routes for global oil supply.

Khamenei described the waterway as a key global link that connects countries and supports the world economy through its connection to the Sea of Oman. He also said the Strait of Hormuz is not just a sea route but an important part of regional identity and history.

Calling the Persian Gulf a “divine blessing,” he said it holds great value for Muslim countries, especially Iran. Referring to the Islamic Revolution, Khamenei said it played a major role in reducing the influence of powerful foreign nations in the region.

He added that Iran’s long coastline along the Persian Gulf strengthens its historical and strategic position.

The statement also highlighted the sacrifices made by the Iranian people, saying they have paid a high price to protect independence and resist foreign pressure. The remarks come at a time when tensions remain high, with growing concerns about maritime security and global energy routes linked to the Strait of Hormuz.
