Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Navy has taken command of Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) for the 14th time, highlighting its leading role in regional maritime security.

Pakistan Navy has once again assumed command of the Combined Task Force-150 (CTF-150) during a formal change of command ceremony held at the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) headquarters in Bahrain.

During the ceremony, Commodore Muhammad Yasir Tahir of the Pakistan Navy took over command from Commodore Fahad S. Al Joaid of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.

Speaking at the event, Commodore Muhammad Yasir Tahir said his team is fully ready to take on the responsibility. He stressed that the Pakistan Navy will continue working to strengthen maritime security and stability across the region.

He reaffirmed Pakistan Navy’s commitment to stopping illegal activities at sea, including the trafficking of weapons, drugs, and other unlawful goods. He also underlined the importance of protecting vital sea routes used for global trade.

CTF-150 is one of five task forces operating under the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) framework. Its main mission is to deter and disrupt non-state actors involved in illegal trafficking across the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Oman.

Officials said that successful anti-narcotics operations carried out by Pakistan Navy ships during the previous Saudi-led command show strong coordination and shared efforts for regional peace and security.

The ceremony was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, the Commander Combined Maritime Forces, the Commander Royal Bahrain Naval Forces, and representatives from several partner navies working under the CMF.
