US wildfires spread across four states as satellite footage captures thick smoke and fire activity
Satellite imagery has revealed the scale of devastating wildfires sweeping across parts of the central and western United States, with thick smoke blanketing the skies and active fires burning across four states.
According to the National Interagency Fire Center, 83 new wildfires were reported across the country on Monday alone, including eight new large fires. Fire crews are currently battling 54 large wildfires that remain uncontained.
The agency has raised the National Preparedness Level to Level 4, indicating that firefighting resources are under increasing pressure due to widespread wildfire activity.
More than 8,200 firefighters and emergency personnel have been deployed to active incidents nationwide.
The largest active blaze remains the Cottonwood Fire near Beaver, Utah, where crews continue efforts to prevent further spread under challenging weather conditions.

The wildfire emergency has also turned deadly. The U.S. Wildland Fire Service said at least three firefighters were killed and two others injured while responding to the Snyder Fire along the Utah-Colorado border.
Authorities have urged residents in affected areas to remain alert; follow evacuation orders where issued and monitor official updates as dangerous wildfire conditions persist.
