According to foreign media reports, after the BRICS countries issued a joint statement, US President Donald Trump has threatened the BRICS with additional tariffs for anti-American policies.
After the BRICS organization condemned the US and Israel s attacks on Iran, the US President wrote on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’ that any country that follows the anti-US policies of the BRICS will be subject to an additional 10% tariff.

He said that no exceptions will be made to anyone in this policy. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Letters related to tariffs will be sent to various countries today.
President Trump did not provide any explanation or detail about what he meant by anti-American policies in his post. It should be noted that the BRICS group was founded in 2009 with the first summit of the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, and China and later South Africa was also included. Last year, the bloc added more countries to its membership: Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
In a joint statement, BRICS leaders expressed serious concerns over the rise of unilateral tariff and non-tariff measures by the United States, saying they distort trade and are inconsistent with WTO rules. The leaders warned that these increasing trade restrictions would undermine the global economy and widen existing economic disparities.
