WhatsApp introduces new group chat tools
Meta has announced four major WhatsApp group chat features designed to improve communication, group management and decision-making.
The latest WhatsApp update introduces smarter polls, an easier way to create new groups and the highly anticipated WhatsApp @all feature, making group conversations more efficient than before.
The company says these improvements will be released gradually and will become available to eligible users through the latest version of the app.
Smarter WhatsApp polls with new controls
One of the biggest WhatsApp group chat features is an upgraded polling system.
With the latest WhatsApp polls, users can now set an expiry time so polls close automatically after a selected period. This removes the need to manually end polls once a decision has been made.
The update also allows users to hide voter identities for greater privacy. In addition, WhatsApp polls can now be edited within 15 minutes after they are posted if a mistake needs to be corrected.
Meta believes these changes will help users organize events, collect opinions and manage community discussions more effectively.

Creating new groups is now much easier
Another addition in the WhatsApp update is a new “Create a Similar Group” option.
Instead of adding members one by one, users can instantly create another group using the participants from an existing chat.
This feature is expected to save time for schools, workplaces, families and community groups that often need separate chats for different activities.
WhatsApp @all feature finally arrives
Among the most requested WhatsApp group chat features is the new WhatsApp @all feature.
Users can now mention every member of a group with a single “@all” tag instead of tagging people individually.
The WhatsApp @all feature is especially useful for urgent announcements, reminders and important updates that everyone needs to see.
For groups with more than 32 members, Meta says only administrators will be able to use the WhatsApp @all feature to reduce unnecessary notifications. Members will also have the option to mute these alerts if they do not want to receive them.

Rollout underway
Meta confirmed that the new WhatsApp update is being released in phases.
Some users may receive the new options immediately, while others may have to wait until the update reaches their devices.
The company recommends installing the latest version of WhatsApp to receive the new tools as soon as they become available.
