Pakistan’s IT exports hit record $4.5 billion in major milestone
Pakistan’s information technology sector has achieved a historic milestone, with IT exports reaching a record $4.5 billion during fiscal year 2025-26, reflecting the growing strength of the country’s digital economy.
According to the latest industry data, IT exports increased by nearly 29 percent compared to $3.475 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year. The strong performance highlights the rising international demand for Pakistani technology services and digital solutions.
Industry experts say growth was fueled by expanding software development services, business process outsourcing (BPO), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions and the rapidly growing gaming sector. Pakistani technology firms continued to secure new international clients and strengthen their presence in competitive global markets.
A key factor behind the surge was the expansion of Pakistani IT companies into Asia-Pacific markets, including Japan and Singapore. Increased access to these high-value markets helped boost export earnings and diversify revenue streams.
Small and medium-sized technology enterprises also played an important role by entering new international markets and offering specialized digital services to overseas clients. Their growing participation has broadened Pakistan’s export base and increased the sector’s resilience.
Analysts believe the record-breaking performance reflects rising global confidence in Pakistan’s technology industry. They note that skilled professionals, competitive service costs and improving digital infrastructure have enhanced the country’s attractiveness as an outsourcing destination.
The latest figures underscore the growing importance of the IT sector in Pakistan’s economy. With continued investment, policy support and market expansion, industry stakeholders expect export revenues to rise further in the coming years, strengthening Pakistan’s position in the global digital marketplace.
