Released worldwide on September 9, 2025, and now available as of September 19, iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro received 4.5-star ratings, a testament to Apple s quality consistency and design progress.
iPhone 17 vs iPhone 17 Pro: Which phone is better?
The iPhone 17 is the cheaper of the two, with the 256GB version priced at $799 and 512GB at $999. In comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro begins at $1,099 with 256GB capacity, reaching $1,499 for the 1TB model — a $300 price hike over its cousin.
In terms of design, Apple has differentiated the iPhone 17 Pro through the use of a bold, wider camera block that runs across the width of the phone made out of aluminum and glass. The regular iPhone 17 still features a smaller, vertical dual-camera with a totally glass back and aluminum body.
Both devices come with the Dynamic Island display, Ceramic Shield 2 protection, and IP68 water-resistance rating, making both of them equally rugged. But the Pro model is marginally heavier and thicker, at 150 x 71.9 x 8.8mm (206g) compared to the iPhone 17 s 149.6 x 71.5 x 8mm (177g).
