LAHORE (Web Desk): Sachin Tendulkar shared an emotional message after meeting Lionel Messi at Wankhede Stadium, turning the GOAT India Tour into a night fans will never forget.

Legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar took to social media after a memorable meeting with Argentina’s football icon Lionel Messi during a grand event at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium.

Messi, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, arrived in Mumbai earlier as part of his GOAT India Tour 2025, with the city becoming the highlight of his visit to the country.

The stadium atmosphere was electric in the evening as chants of “Messi, Messi” echoed through the stands when the Argentine star walked onto the field alongside Inter Miami teammates Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul.

The excitement peaked when Sachin Tendulkar joined Messi on the ground. The rare sight of two global sporting legends together drew thunderous applause from the packed crowd.

Tendulkar presented Messi with his India No.10 jersey from the 2011 World Cup victory, a gesture that sparked loud cheers and emotional reactions across the stadium.

Later, Tendulkar shared his joy online, calling the meeting unforgettable and expressing deep respect for Messi’s journey and achievements.

Beyond the star power, Messi and his teammates spent time with young girls from Maharashtra’s grassroots football programme, Project Mahadeva. The youngsters enjoyed passing the ball as Messi watched and joined in.

The celebrations continued as Messi and his teammates kicked footballs into the crowd, sending fans into a frenzy. Project Mahadeva was officially unveiled by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who thanked Messi for inspiring future footballers. Actor Tiger Shroff, linked with the initiative, was also present at the event.
