(Web Desk) The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry conditions across most parts of the country, with mountainous regions expected to see rain and snowfall in the coming days. Chilly mornings and nights are likely, especially in higher-altitude areas.

Fog and smog are expected in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The lowest temperatures recorded include -10°C in Skardu and -6°C in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kalat. Officials warn that night temperatures in hilly areas may drop further over the next two days.

Rain and snowfall are anticipated mainly in mountainous regions, accompanied by strong winds in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir starting December 5. Additional snowfall is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan on December 7, with rain and snow continuing in some areas on December 6.

In Punjab, cold and dry conditions will prevail in most districts, including Murree and Galiyat. Light fog and smog are likely in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addo, and Bahawalpur during the night.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience cold and dry weather in most districts, with severe cold in hilly areas at night. Light to moderate fog is expected in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, DI Khan, and nearby areas.

In Sindh and Balochistan, conditions will remain dry, with extremely cold mornings and nights. Authorities have urged residents to take precautions against low temperatures and prepare for challenging weather conditions.
