When will Eid al-Adha 2026 fall in Pakistan? Here’s likely date
According to Secretary General Khalid Ijaz Mufti, the new moon of Zilhaj 1447 AH is expected to be born between the night of May 16 and May 17 at 1:01am Pakistan Standard Time. If weather conditions remain clear, the moon is likely to be visible on the evening of Sunday, May 17. In that case, the first day of Zilhaj will fall on Monday, May 18.
Based on this calculation, Eid al-Adha is expected to be observed on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, across Pakistan. Experts say the moon will be more than 18 hours old at sunset on May 17, which is considered suitable for sighting.
In major cities, the chances of visibility also appear strong. In Karachi, the moon is expected to remain visible for about 55 minutes after sunset, while in Peshawar it may stay visible for around 63 minutes.

However, if weather conditions are not clear and the moon is not sighted, the current month of Zilqad will complete 30 days. In that case, the first of Zilhaj will begin on Tuesday, May 19.
The council also believes that Eid al-Adha may fall on the same day in both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which is expected to be May 27. Final confirmation will depend on the official moon sighting announcement, as religious authorities will verify the sighting before declaring the exact date.
