(Web Desk): Saiful Muluk Lake has reopened for tourists after authorities lifted a weeklong restriction, allowing visitors to travel to the scenic destination under strict safety guidelines during the monsoon season.

Saiful Muluk Lake reopens for tourists

The district administration has allowed tourists to visit Saiful Muluk Lake again after withdrawing a temporary ban imposed due to monsoon-related safety concerns. Assistant Commissioner Hasrat Khan said Deputy Commissioner Mansehra issued a fresh order allowing tourist access to the popular lake under standard operating procedures (SOPs).

He said the decision was made after weather conditions improved and a report from the local civil administration supported lifting the restriction. The reopening has brought relief to tourists and local traders who depend on tourism activities in the Kaghan Valley.

Tourists are allowed to visit under the new schedule

According to the latest notification, tourists will be allowed to travel to Saiful Muluk Lake between 9:30 am and 4 pm. Authorities have directed Naran police to strictly enforce the approved timings to ensure the safety of visitors.

Police officials will not allow tourists to travel towards the lake before the opening time or remain there after closing hours. The administration said these restrictions are necessary because the area is located at a high altitude and remains vulnerable to sudden weather changes during the monsoon season.

Road closure possible during bad weather

The district administration has authorised police to close the road connecting Naran with Saiful Muluk Lake if dangerous weather conditions develop. Officials said the route could be closed immediately if there are signs of landslides, cloudbursts, or any other safety risks.

The measure aims to protect tourists from possible dangers in the mountainous region. Authorities have urged visitors to follow safety instructions and avoid unnecessary travel during unstable weather conditions.

Ban lifted after weather improvement

The earlier restriction on tourist activities was imposed as a precautionary measure during the monsoon season. Officials had expressed concerns that heavy rainfall could trigger landslides and cloudbursts, putting tourists and local communities at risk.

After reviewing the latest weather situation, the administration decided to reopen the destination with controlled access. Officials said public safety remains the top priority while allowing tourism activities to continue.

Traders welcomed the reopening decision

Local traders in Kaghan had earlier protested against the restrictions and demanded the reopening of Saiful Muluk Lake. A group of traders staged a rally on Wednesday, calling for the removal of the ban, which they said was affecting tourism-related businesses.

The reopening decision is expected to provide economic relief to shopkeepers, transporters, and other people associated with the tourism sector. Saiful Muluk Lake is one of Pakistan’s most popular tourist destinations and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Authorities urge tourists to remain cautious

The administration has advised tourists to remain cautious while travelling to high-altitude areas during the monsoon season. Visitors have been encouraged to follow official instructions and avoid taking unnecessary risks during their trips.

Officials said weather conditions in mountainous areas can change quickly, making safety measures essential. The administration will continue monitoring the situation and may impose further restrictions if weather conditions deteriorate.
