Punjab starts 24/7 toll-free helpline for women’s protection
The Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) has launched a round-the-clock toll-free helpline, 0800-01737, to provide women with immediate assistance, legal guidance, counselling, and protection during emergencies.
PWPA Director General Dr Lubna Nazir said women facing harassment, domestic violence, physical abuse, or any other emergency can contact the helpline without fear at any time. She said the service is completely free, allowing women to seek immediate support at no cost.
According to the authority, trained staff will provide legal assistance, counselling, and protection services to women in need. Officials said every complaint received through the helpline will be treated with the utmost seriousness and handled without unnecessary delay.

Dr Lubna Nazir assured that the identity and personal information of all callers will remain strictly confidential to protect their privacy and encourage more women to seek help.
She said the initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to creating a safer environment for women, ensuring that no woman is left alone during difficult times.
The director general urged women facing any form of violence, harassment, or abuse to immediately call the 0800-01737 helpline and seek assistance whenever needed.
