PTA confirms Pakistan internet services restored nationwide
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said the SEA-ME-WE 5 (SMW5) submarine cable has been fully restored after a technical issue disrupted connectivity across the country.
According to the PTA internet update, all internet traffic has now normalized, and internet restored operations have resumed nationwide.
The disruption had affected Pakistan internet services since Thursday night, causing slow speeds and connectivity issues for users in different parts of the country.
Many businesses, students, freelancers, and remote workers experienced difficulties accessing online platforms during the outage.
Officials said the restoration of the SEA-ME-WE 5 (SMW5) submarine cable has
resolved the fault responsible for the disruption.
