Pakistan marks Eid Milad-un-Nabi with prayers, processions and Milad
Gun salutes mark the beginning of celebrations
The day begins with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital. A 21-gun salute is also being held in all provincial capitals to mark the occasion.
Special prayers are being offered after the Fajr prayer for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Religious activities are being held across the country throughout the day.
International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference held
The main event of the day is the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference in Islamabad. The conference is focusing on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Its theme is “Protection, Development and Character Building of the Younger Generation in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).” Religious scholars and other participants are discussing the importance of the Prophet’s teachings in guiding younger generations.
Milad processions held in cities
Milad processions are being taken out in cities across Pakistan. Ulema and Khateeb are addressing participants during the processions and highlighting different aspects of the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Speakers are also stressing the importance of following his teachings and Sunnah in daily life. People are participating in the processions with religious devotion and reciting Durood and other prayers.
Mosques host special gatherings
Mosques across Pakistan are hosting special gatherings featuring Milad, Durood and Salam. Religious scholars are speaking about the blessed life, character and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Seminars, conferences and Mehfil-e-Naat gatherings are also being organised in different cities. These programmes provide people with opportunities to learn about the Prophet’s message and reflect on his teachings.
Streets and buildings light up
Streets, roads, markets, mosques and houses across the country have been decorated for Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Green buntings, flags and colourful lights are being used to decorate public and private spaces.
Government and private buildings have also been illuminated, while decorative arches and gateways have been installed along major roads and in several markets. The decorations have created a festive atmosphere in many cities and neighbourhoods.
Models of holy places displayed
Devotees are also expressing their love and reverence for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by creating decorative models of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Nabawi.
The models are being displayed in different areas as part of the celebrations. Communities are also arranging food and other activities for people taking part in religious gatherings and processions.
Prophet’s teachings remain central
Religious scholars are reminding people that Eid Milad-un-Nabi is not only about celebrations and decorations. They are stressing the importance of understanding and following the teachings and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Speakers are encouraging people to reflect on the Prophet’s message and apply its principles in their daily lives. The emphasis on character, compassion, unity, and good conduct remains an important part of the religious programmes being held across the country.
