Pakistan, Bangladesh agree to boost ties and women’s empowerment
The commitment was made during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh’s Minister for Social Welfare, Dr Zahid Hossain, in Islamabad.
According to the Foreign Office, the two leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Ishaq Dar welcomed Dr Zahid Hossain’s participation in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference on Women and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing women’s empowerment through the OIC and other international forums.
Both sides expressed their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries. During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on expanding collaboration in trade, education, social welfare and people-to-people exchanges to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Officials said the discussions reflected the growing commitment of Pakistan and Bangladesh to deepen engagement in key sectors and promote closer diplomatic cooperation. The meeting also highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and joint efforts to expand cooperation in areas that contribute to the development and prosperity of both countries.
