Murree receives 15 electric buses to improve public transport
The Punjab government has handed over 15 electric buses to the Murree district administration as part of its plan to introduce environmentally friendly public transport. The project aims to improve travel facilities for local residents and the millions of tourists who visit the hill station each year.
Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi said the launch of the electric buses marks an important step towards providing modern and sustainable public transport in Murree. He said the new buses will help reduce air pollution and carbon emissions while protecting the area’s natural beauty.
According to the deputy commissioner, the electric buses will provide safe, comfortable and affordable transportation for both residents and visitors. The service is expected to make travelling easier, especially during the peak tourist season.
He added that the buses are equipped with modern technology to enhance the passenger experience. The project also includes the installation of electric charging stations to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
