The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has reopened the M-1 Motorway for traffic from the Colonel Sher Khan Interchange, restoring travel between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

The M-16 Swat Expressway has also been reopened, allowing traffic to resume on the important route. The development restores movement on both highways after the earlier closure.

The reopening is expected to provide relief to commuters travelling between major areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Motorway Police issues travel advice

The NHMP has urged motorists to follow traffic rules and drive carefully while using the reopened routes. Drivers have also been advised to remain alert during their journey and follow instructions issued by motorway authorities.

The official NHMP travel advisory lists the M-1 sector between Peshawar and Islamabad and the Swat Expressway sector between Colonel Sher Khan and Chakdara among its monitored routes.

The Swat Expressway connects the Colonel Sher Khan Interchange on the M-1 with Chakdara and serves as an important route for travellers heading towards Swat and surrounding areas.

Motorists planning journeys through the region are advised to check the latest traffic and road conditions before departure, particularly if weather or other conditions change.
