The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced four special facilities for senior citizens aged 60 and above, aimed at simplifying access to identity documents and registration services.

Dedicated priority counters are available for senior citizens at NADRA offices across Pakistan. These counters allow elderly citizens to receive services on a priority basis and avoid regular queues.

NADRA has also highlighted its Manpack service for senior citizens who cannot visit an office because of advanced age or physical weakness. Eligible citizens can receive registration services at home, reducing the need for travel.

Facial recognition and lifetime CNIC facility

Another facility addresses biometric verification problems. As fingerprints can become faint with age, NADRA allows facial recognition as an alternative verification method in relevant cases. NADRA’s official information confirms that facial recognition is included among its biometric verification capabilities.

The fourth facility concerns identity card validity. NADRA says senior citizens can benefit from a lifetime-valid identity card under the applicable rules. Its current Services Charter states that an ID card can have lifetime validity when the citizen meets the specified age condition at renewal or modification.

NADRA has advised senior citizens to contact their nearest registration centre for information about eligibility and available services.

The measures are intended to reduce difficulties for elderly citizens, particularly those facing mobility problems or challenges with fingerprint verification.
