Lahore Traffic Police introduces strict new rule for accident cases
The decision was introduced on the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim.
Under the new policy, the Lahore Traffic Police has already suspended the licenses of 68 motorists who were involved in traffic accidents Lahore, marking the beginning of a tougher enforcement campaign.
According to a traffic police spokesperson, driving license suspension will now apply to motorists involved in both fatal and non-fatal accidents.
Officials said the measure is intended to discourage careless driving and reduce the number of traffic accidents Lahore.
The spokesperson warned that any driver found operating a vehicle with a suspended license will face legal action. Authorities said strict monitoring will continue to ensure motorists comply with the new rules.
CTO Syed Abdul Rahim said drivers found responsible for reckless or negligent driving will have their licenses suspended for at least one year.

Those involved in fatal crashes will also face criminal proceedings in addition to driving license suspension.
He said reckless driving puts innocent lives at risk and will not be tolerated. The Lahore Traffic Police will continue taking firm action against violators to improve discipline on the roads and protect the public.
Officials added that preventing traffic accidents Lahore remains a top priority. They urged all motorists to follow traffic laws, avoid speeding, and drive responsibly to ensure safer roads for everyone.
