LAHORE (Web Desk): A tragic Lahore house collapse incident has killed seven people, while rescue teams continue searching for several others believed to be trapped beneath the debris.

Lahore house collapse shocks Baghbanpura residents

A deadly Lahore house collapse occurred in Kotli Pir Abdul Rehman, Bhatta Muhammad Din Colony, located in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area.
According to police, the incident happened at around 10:15 pm, when the roofs of a three-storey residential building collapsed one after another before the entire structure fell to the ground.

The Baghbanpura building collapse happened while three families were inside the house. Elderly people, women, men, children, and young family members were all present when the building came down.

The sudden collapse caused panic throughout the neighbourhood as residents rushed outside to help before emergency teams arrived.

Seven people confirmed dead

Rescue officials said at least seven people have died in the Lahore house collapse.

The victims include two women, two men, and one child. Authorities are still working to identify all those who lost their lives.

So far, rescue workers have managed to pull 13 people from the rubble.

Three injured people have been shifted to Services Hospital, where doctors are continuing their treatment.

Officials said the condition of the injured is being closely monitored.]

More victims may still be trapped

The district administration believes that 6 to 7 more people may still be trapped under the collapsed building.

The collapse in Kotli Pir Abdul Rehman has led to a large-scale rescue operation involving heavy machinery and specialised rescue teams.

Officials said the operation will continue without interruption until the last missing person is found.

Rescue workers are carefully removing concrete slabs and debris to avoid causing further injuries to anyone who may still be alive beneath the rubble.

Senior officials visit the site

Following the Baghbanpura building collapse, the Lahore Commissioner visited both the accident site and Services Hospital during the night.

The Commissioner reviewed the rescue efforts, met injured victims, and instructed officials to speed up relief operations.

Pakistan Muslim League-N Member of the Provincial Assembly Malik Waheed also visited the affected families and assured them that the government would provide every possible support.

Authorities said emergency teams will remain at the site until the operation is completed.

Investigation into the collapse begins

Officials have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collapse in Kotli Pir Abdul Rehman.

Experts will examine whether the building collapsed because of old construction, structural weakness, or other safety issues.

Authorities said action will be taken if negligence or building violations are found during the investigation.

The findings are expected to help improve building safety and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
