Another roof collapse in Lahore leaves child dead, several injured
A child lost his life and at least four people were injured after the roof of an under-construction house collapsed in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and immediately started an emergency operation.
According to Rescue 1122, the roof of the third floor of the under-construction building suddenly caved in. The child, believed to be between eight and ten years old, died in the incident, while another person was still trapped under the debris.
Rescue officials said seven emergency vehicles and 25 rescue workers were taking part in the operation. The injured received first aid before being shifted to Services Hospital for medical treatment.
The latest roof collapse happened only two days after a deadly incident at a tuition centre in Lahore’s Kahna area. That tragedy claimed the lives of 14 children and left many families in deep grief.

On Wednesday, hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers of the children at a local mosque. Most of the victims were between four and 12 years old before they were laid to rest in a nearby graveyard.
Roof and building collapses continue to happen in different parts of Pakistan. Experts often link these incidents to weak safety rules, poor construction practices, and the use of low-quality building materials.
The latest accident has once again highlighted serious concerns about construction safety in Lahore. Many believe stronger inspections and stricter enforcement of building standards are needed to prevent more tragic losses.
