Maryam Nawaz announces Green Bus service for all districts
Punjab Chief Minister has announced that the Green Bus Service will gradually expand to every tehsil across the province. She said the project aims to provide modern, safe and comfortable public transport for people throughout Punjab.
The chief minister formally inaugurated the Green Bus Service in six districts. She said the expansion would be carried out in phases, with buses beginning operations at the tehsil level during the next phase of the project.
Maryam Nawaz said the Green Bus Service would especially benefit women by providing safer and more reliable transportation. She added that the buses are modern, fully air-conditioned and environmentally friendly, while the fare has been fixed at only Rs20 to keep public transport affordable.

She announced that 1,100 new buses would be added to Punjab’s roads during the current year. Over the next three years, the government plans to expand the fleet to a total of 5,000 buses to strengthen the province’s public transport system.
The chief minister said the Punjab government is modernizing the transport network and remains committed to providing quality travel facilities to citizens across the province.
Maryam Nawaz also praised the efforts of the Transport Department, the provincial transport minister, the transport secretary, and other officials for successfully advancing the project. She expressed confidence that they would continue serving the public with the same dedication in the future.
