Tragedy occurs near Umerkot as school wall collapses killing three girls.
The victims were on their way home after attending classes at a nearby seminary when the boundary wall unexpectedly gave way as they walked past it, according to local residents. All three died beneath the debris before rescuers could pull them out.
The deceased were identified as 13-year-old Sughra, daughter of Abubakar Kori; four-year-old Rabia, daughter of Mohammad Farooq; and three-year-old Kaneeza.
Family members and residents rushed the girls to Civil Hospital Umerkot, where doctors confirmed they had succumbed to their injuries. Their bodies were later released to their families after the necessary legal procedures.
Following the tragedy, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah ordered an inquiry and directed authorities to initiate legal action against anyone found responsible.

Expressing sorrow over the incident, the education minister instructed departmental officials to inspect the site and submit a comprehensive report.
He said the school had already been declared structurally compromised after the floods, noting that although repair and expansion work had been carried out under the 2019-20 budget, the building sustained fresh damage during the 2022 floods. He added that nearly 20,000 government schools across Sindh were affected by the disaster.
Former MNA and PTI leader Lal Malhi blamed the deaths on administrative failures, corruption, negligence and poor governance, arguing that the tragedy was the result of prolonged institutional shortcomings rather than an isolated accident.
He extended condolences to the bereaved families, called for immediate financial assistance, and demanded a judicial inquiry along with criminal proceedings against the officials and contractors involved.
