ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Iran thanks Pakistan for ceasefire efforts, confirms participation in Islamabad talks as leaders agree on negotiations to ease tensions.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss recent developments and efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions. The call lasted more than 45 minutes.

During the discussion, the prime minister appreciated Iran’s leadership for agreeing to a ceasefire. He also thanked them for accepting Pakistan’s offer to host talks between Iran and the United States in Islamabad later this week.

He conveyed his respect to Iran’s Supreme Leader and highlighted Pakistan’s willingness to support peaceful dialogue in the region.

President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for Pakistan’s role in facilitating the temporary ceasefire. He also extended good wishes to the people of Pakistan and acknowledged the importance of diplomatic efforts.

He confirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming talks in Islamabad, signaling a step forward in ongoing efforts to manage tensions through dialogue rather than conflict.

Both leaders agreed to stay in close contact as diplomatic engagement continues, indicating that further cooperation may follow depending on the outcome of the negotiations.
