Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Erdogan, receives Turkish military honour
During the visit, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces also held separate meetings with Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler and other senior military leaders to discuss regional security, defence cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.
Field Marshal Asim Munir received a warm welcome upon his arrival, reflecting the longstanding friendship and close ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.
During his meeting with President Erdoğan, both leaders exchanged views on regional developments and discussed ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. Separate discussions with Defence Minister Yaşar Güler focused on expanding bilateral defence cooperation and addressing shared security challenges.
At the Turkish General Staff Headquarters, Field Marshal Asim Munir was presented with a Guard of Honour before holding detailed talks with General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Chief of the Turkish General Staff. The discussions focused on regional security and professional military cooperation.
During the visit, General Bayraktaroğlu conferred the Turkish Armed Forces Distinguished Service Medal on Field Marshal Asim Munir in recognition of his outstanding services and his contribution to strengthening military cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The Field Marshal also visited the Turkish Land Forces Headquarters, where he met General Metin Tokel, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, to discuss further measures to enhance military-to-military cooperation.
As part of his official engagements, Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Türkiye. He laid a floral wreath and paid tribute to Atatürk, acknowledging his visionary leadership and the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visit reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Türkiye to further strengthen their defence partnership and continue working together to promote regional peace, stability and security.
