CM Punjab announces 100,000 electric bikes for students
Speaking at a ceremony in Arifwala, the chief minister said Nawaz Sharif Schools will be established in every tehsil to provide students with modern educational facilities and equal learning opportunities.
She also announced the distribution of 100,000 laptops and 50,000 merit-based scholarships to encourage talented students and support higher education. Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government is investing Rs40 billion to upgrade government schools by constructing new classrooms and improving essential facilities.
She said schools will receive new furniture, clean drinking water, washrooms, fans and other basic amenities to create a better learning environment for students. The chief minister added that science, technology, computer, IT and artificial intelligence (AI) laboratories are also being established to equip students with modern knowledge and practical skills.

She said the government plans to establish 300 modern schools across Punjab and will continue expanding the Green Electric Bus service to provide students with safe, comfortable and reliable transportation.
Maryam Nawaz also urged parents to keep their children away from rivers, streams and other unsafe places during the rainy season following recent tragic incidents that claimed the lives of several children. She reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and ensuring that every student has access to quality education and modern facilities.
