Major relief for widows and orphans

Authorities said the project will start soon after Eid. In the first phase, more than 40,000 families are expected to benefit from the scheme.

Direct financial support under the programme

Under the programme, widows and orphaned children will receive Rs25,000 each as direct financial assistance.

Officials believe this support will help struggling families manage daily expenses and improve their living conditions.

How citizens can apply for the Rehmat card scheme

Eligible applicants can submit their applications through several simple methods.

Applicants may apply through a dedicated mobile application developed for the programme.

They can also submit applications through an online web portal by providing the required information.

Citizens who need guidance can contact the helpline or call center to receive assistance with the application process.

Applicants may also visit their nearest Zakat office for registration and help in completing the process.

Government’s aim behind the scheme

Speaking during the meeting, the chief minister said every citizen has a right to the province’s resources and the government will ensure help reaches those who truly deserve it.

She said the main goal of the Rehmat card scheme is to empower widows and help them achieve financial independence. The support may also allow many women to start small businesses and support their families.

Officials added that the programme aims to help widows and orphaned children live with dignity and achieve better financial stability.

The new scheme could bring relief to many families facing financial hardship. Small cash support may help widows manage basic needs or start small work.

If the programme is implemented fairly, it may strengthen social welfare in Punjab. However, the real impact will depend on how easily deserving families can access the scheme.
