(Web Desk): Bara Bridge costing Rs130 million in Dera Ghazi Khan district of Punjab collapsed just months after its completion.

Bara Bridge and Vador Road project failed following a minor water flow. The structure could not withstand even a low-level torrent after recent rainfall.

The incident took place after rain on June 3 triggered a small flow in the Vador Hill torrent, locally known as Rodh Kohi. By June 4, the bridge and connecting road had completely collapsed, raising serious concerns about construction quality.

The collapse has disconnected several nearby settlements from Dera Ghazi Khan city. Villages including Bela, Vador Zai, Dilana, Rakh Bela, Wahi Kangrani, and Kocha Wadani have been cut off from the main urban center.

Residents say the destruction has created major problems for daily travel and access to essential services. With the main route gone, people are now forced to rely on unsafe or unavailable alternative paths.

Local communities have demanded immediate restoration work and urgent arrangements for temporary routes. They say the situation has brought daily life to a standstill.

Some residents also claimed that warnings about poor construction materials were raised months earlier. Local representatives had reportedly alerted authorities, but no action was taken at that time.

Now, people are demanding a full investigation into negligence and possible corruption. They are also calling for strict action against the contractor and responsible officials involved in the project.

The collapse has raised serious questions about infrastructure quality and oversight in public projects. A costly bridge failing so quickly has increased public anger.

Authorities may now face pressure to investigate the project in detail. Residents expect accountability and faster restoration of connectivity.
