
This is the third such office in Pakistan after Islamabad and Sheikhupura. Deputy Inspector General Ashfaq Ahmed explained that planning for the Quetta office began two years ago, and it officially launched last year. Since then, the center has issued over 2,000 local and international driving licenses.

The office uses modern testing technology. If you pass the test, you can get your license the same day. The goal is to encourage safe driving and cut down on accidents caused by untrained drivers.
DIG Ahmed also noted that the Motorway Police is active on highways in Balochistan, like Quetta Kalat and Uthal Hub routes. But with only 1,000 officers in the region, more staff are needed to manage growing traffic. There are plans to add more personnel for better highway safety and traffic control.
This new license office will help the people of Balochistan, making it easier to drive legally and safely. The launch of the Motorway Police Driving License Authority in Quetta is a major boost for road safety and public convenience in Balochistan.
With modern testing systems and same-day license issuance, it helps reduce delays and encourages trained driving. However, with only 1,000 officers covering vast highways, there’s a clear need for more staff to manage increasing traffic and ensure long-term road safety across the region.
