During a meeting, PTI leader Asad Qaiser explained that the party’s parliamentary body reviewed the situation after Barrister Gohar Ali Khan’s briefing on his meeting with Imran Khan. They endorsed the decision to boycott upcoming by-elections and resign from all parliamentary committees. The committee also agreed that PTI lawmakers would attend the National Assembly and Senate sessions each day but walk out in protest to highlight what they describe as the absence of democracy in the country.
Mr Qaiser said the appeal to overseas Pakistanis is urgent because the floods have badly damaged crops. He warned that Pakistan will likely face food shortages next year, forcing the government to import essential items such as wheat and rice. This, he added, will create heavy pressure on the already weak rupee.

Meanwhile, PTI had organised a session at KP House in Islamabad where Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was to meet media representatives. However, heavy rainfall and strong winds disrupted the event. The canopy set up in the lawn was blown away, and the organisers had no choice but to cancel the meeting. Journalists were later informed that the discussion could not take place.
This episode reflects both the challenges the party is facing in terms of political strategy and the scale of natural disasters pressing the country, while also showing PTI’s focus on mobilising overseas Pakistanis to fill the gap left by an indifferent international community.
