(Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has clarified that his party will not resign from the Senate, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab or Sindh Assemblies.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar said that party members will not resign from the Senate, KP, Punjab, or Sindh Assemblies, instead, the party has decided to withdraw only from the standing committees of the National Assembly.

Gohar said that PTI lawmakers have already begun submitting resignations from parliamentary committees, with 25 members stepping down so far. The remaining members are expected to submit their resignations by Monday.

“These decisions were not easy, but the party accepted them despite political pressure,” he stated.

Barrister Gohar further emphasized that PTI favors dialogue, but the government has “shut all doors of negotiations.” He alleged that political victimization has reduced PTI’s strength in the National Assembly from 91 members to just 76 through “controversial decisions.”

The PTI chief also accused the government of suppressing democratic rights, claiming the party is being denied permission to hold rallies and public gatherings. “Not allowing PTI to organize political activities is against democratic norms,” he added.

Meanwhile, political analysts believe PTI’s decision signals a strategy to remain engaged in parliamentary politics rather than quitting the assemblies altogether. By retaining its presence in the legislative forums, the party aims to resist government policies while maintaining political influence.

However, observers note that prospects for meaningful dialogue between PTI and the government remain bleak under the prevailing circumstances.
