Bajaur (Web Desk): Pakistan’s security forces killed 13 India-backed terrorists during five intelligence-based operations in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out during the night between March 6 and 7 as part of an intense counter terrorism campaign. The actions were based on intelligence reports about the presence of militants in various areas.

One of the major operations took place in Bajaur district. Security forces surrounded a terrorist hideout and engaged them in a heavy exchange of fire. After the fight, five terrorists were neutralised at the location.

In two separate encounters in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan districts, security forces killed three more terrorists. Officials said the militants tried to resist but were eliminated during the operations.

Two additional operations were conducted in Khyber district and South Waziristan. During these engagements, five more terrorists were neutralised by the troops.

The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists. According to the statement, these militants were involved in several terrorist activities in the region and were backed by India.

Security officials also launched sanitisation operations in the areas to ensure that no other militants remain hidden. The army said the campaign against terrorism will continue with full strength.

The statement added that the operations are part of the broader strategy under the vision “Azm e Istehkam”, aimed at eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies have reaffirmed their commitment to protect the country and its borders. These latest operations also come as Pakistan continues to deal with growing security challenges near the Afghanistan border while moving forward with Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.
