Armed assault on police patrol in KP’s Mohmand claims lives of two officers
The Pakistani state uses the term ‘Fitna al Khawarij’ to refer to militants associated with the banned ‘Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)’. According to a police statement, the attack took place near the Warsak Lift Canal in the Machni area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ekkaghund police station. A police patrol vehicle was ambushed when heavily armed militants opened fire on it.
Additional SHO Zaitullah and Elite Force constable Noor Zeb were martyred while confronting the assailants during the attack.
The patrol vehicle's driver, Zahir, suffered critical injuries and was shifted to Peshawar for advanced medical treatment after receiving first aid.

Police said verified official reports indicate that several militants were killed during the shootout. As they escaped, the attackers allegedly left behind an M4 rifle, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, and three loaded magazines at the scene.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing militants.
The Mohmand police reaffirmed their commitment to continuing operations against Fitna al Khawarij militants until the threat is eliminated, vowing that the sacrifices of the martyred officers would not be in vain.
The funeral prayers for the two martyred policemen were held with full state honours at the Police Lines in Ghalanai on Friday morning.
The ceremony was attended by Mohmand DPO Raza Mohammad, Mohmand Rifles Commandant Asim Mahmood, MNA Sajid Khan, and senior police and civil administration officials.
