Farrukh Khokhar gets life sentence in Majid Satti murder case
Additional District and Sessions Judge Afsha Ejaz Soofi announced the verdict after finding Farrukh Khokhar and two other accused guilty of murdering Majid Satti.
The court sentenced all three convicts to life imprisonment, while another accused, Wasim, was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
Immediately after the verdict, Farrukh Khokhar life imprisonment became effective as the court ordered his arrest. Since he had been out on bail, police took him into custody inside the courtroom.
The two other convicted men, who were already in jail, had been brought to court for the hearing. The judge also directed authorities to shift Farrukh Khokhar to Adiala Jail under strict security.
Heavy security was deployed at the Judicial Complex because a large number of Majid Satti’s relatives, supporters and the families of the accused gathered to hear the decision. Police remained on high alert to prevent any disturbance.
The Majid Satti murder case dates back to August 23, 2022, when Majid Satti was shot dead in the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station. Investigators alleged that the killing was linked to a dispute over a plot of land.
According to the prosecution, Majid Satti, who was associated with PTI, was attacked after attempting to stop the illegal occupation of the property.

Following the incident, police registered a murder case and launched an investigation that later led to the arrest of several suspects.
During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence and witness statements to support the allegations.
After hearing arguments from both sides over several court hearings, the judge concluded that the charges against Farrukh Khokhar and two co-accused had been proven beyond doubt.
The case also attracted political attention because Farrukh Khokhar had previously been associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party before later joining Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. However, the court’s decision focused on the evidence presented during the trial.
With the latest ruling, the Majid Satti murder case has reached a major legal milestone. However, the convicted men still have the legal right to challenge the verdict before a higher court if they choose to appeal.
