New pension schemes and relief package approved for industrial employees
The decision was made at an important corporation meeting, where several measures were also approved for industrialists and employees. The meeting also approved the schedule for auctioning the corporation’s unused properties.
Rs2,500 million loan planned
The board approved comprehensive pension reforms to improve employee welfare. To implement the reforms and arrange funds, the Punjab government will be approached for a loan of Rs2,500,000,000.
The move is aimed at ensuring funds are available for the new pension schemes. It could provide stronger financial support to employees after retirement.
20% relief for plot allottees
The meeting also approved a relief package for allottees of cancelled plots in Sundar Two Small Industrial Estate. Under the package, allottees will receive a special 20% discount if they pay their total outstanding dues.
The relief comes with clear conditions for beneficiaries. They will have to complete construction of their factories within six months and start regular production within two years.
Pending matters approved
At the end of the meeting, the board confirmed the minutes of the previous meeting. It also formally approved all pending administrative matters.
The pension decision could give employees greater financial security in the future. The new schemes also show an effort to address long-standing welfare concerns.
The 20% discount may encourage plot allottees to clear their dues and restart development. However, meeting the construction and production deadlines will be important for those seeking the relief.
