Punjab has introduced Pakistan’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy, marking a major shift in the province’s education system and digital learning strategy.

Under the new policy, AI education will become mandatory in all government schools across Punjab from Grade 1. The initiative is aimed at preparing students for a rapidly changing world where artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in education, technology and employment.

AI Education to Start From Grade 1

The policy will introduce AI concepts at an early stage so students can gradually develop digital and technology-related skills as they move through different grades.

Instead of limiting AI learning to advanced classes, the province plans to familiarize children with the basics of artificial intelligence from the beginning of their school education.
