Matriculation annual examinations are set to begin from March 27 across Punjab, with authorities implementing strict security measures to ensure transparency. Officials have declared 14 examination centres in Lahore as sensitive due to security concerns.
According to sources, these centres include Government ND Islamia High School Ichhra, Government High School Barki, Government Science College Barki, and several institutions in areas like Chohang, Maraka Quarter, and Sher Shah Colony. In addition, four centres in Kasur, seven in Sheikhupura, and one in Nankana Sahib have also been declared sensitive.
Around 250,000 candidates are expected to appear in the exams, with approximately 880 centres established across the province. Out of these, 26 centres will be monitored through CCTV cameras to prevent malpractice. The first papers scheduled are Arabic, Commercial Geography, and History.
Authorities have imposed Section 144 at all examination centres, banning unauthorized entry. Candidates will only be allowed inside after proper identification checks. The final matric exam, including Punjabi and Islamic History, will conclude on April 16, while ninth-grade exams will begin from April 17.
