HEC announces massive increase in degree attestation fee

Under the revised policy, the fee for degree attestation has been increased from Rs1,000 to Rs3,000, sparking discussion among students and graduates nationwide.

The increase comes alongside the launch of the HEC online attestation system, which aims to make the entire process paperless and more convenient for applicants.

According to HEC Chairman Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, students can now complete the degree attestation Pakistan process digitally without visiting HEC offices or sending original documents through courier services.

Officials explained that the new digital attestation Pakistan system is designed to reduce travel costs, paperwork, and delays faced by students in the past.

The commission also confirmed that part of the revised fee would be shared with universities to support document verification services.

Through the updated HEC online attestation system, applicants can submit their academic records online and receive a HEC e attestation certificate that can be digitally verified.

However, the sudden jump in the HEC degree attestation fee from Rs1,000 to Rs3,000 has triggered mixed reactions on social media.
