Electric bus service at LUMHS has been launched to improve student travel inside the campus. The new system aims to make daily movement easier and more affordable.

The administration believes the service will also help control traffic inside the university. Better transport planning is expected to make the campus more organized.
Students who attended the launch welcomed the initiative warmly. They said it will reduce daily costs and save time when moving between departments.
Officials say more steps may be taken in future to improve student life. The electric bus service is being seen as an important first step.
This step shows the university is focusing on student comfort. Transport issues are common, so this move can make a real difference. Lower travel cost is a big relief for many students. It may also reduce congestion inside the campus. If managed well, it can become a model for other universities.
On the other side, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has finalized a plan to introduce a free bus service across Punjab by launching 1,000 public service vehicles (PSVs).
This service will help ease the burden of rising travel costs for citizens. The new initiative will run buses through private operators who will be paid based on the distance they cover. The buses will operate in 17 districts where public transport is currently unavailable, and the service will be free for all passengers.
The pilot phase of this project has already been approved for Gujranwala, Multan, and Sialkot. These cities will see the first buses running before the program expands to other areas.

The operators will be paid on a per-kilometer basis, with each bus required to operate at least 100 kilometers daily. No payments will be made for distances beyond the 200-kilometer limit. Routes will be determined based on the demand for transport in each area.
